Buttermilk ranch dressing
Mayonnaise, buttermilk and soft herbs whisked into a pourable dressing. Because it is spooned onto an individual plate, each person decides their own serving, which is the most forgiving arrangement there is.

Ingredients
4 tbsp infused avocado oil
Set your infusion strength above and this splits into infused and plain avocado oil to hit whatever dose you want.
- 1 cupmayonnaise
- ½ cupbuttermilk — shaken well
- ¼ cupsour cream
- 2 tbspfresh dill — chopped fine
- 2 tbspchives — sliced thin
- 2 tbspflat-leaf parsley — chopped fine
- 1garlic clove — grated on a rasp
- 1 tsponion powder
- ¼ tspmustard powder
- 1 tbspwhite wine vinegar
- salt and black pepper
Method
- 01
Whisk the mayonnaise by itself in a medium bowl for a few seconds until it loosens and looks glossy.
- 02
Add the infused avocado oil one teaspoon at a time, whisking each spoonful in completely before the next. Mayonnaise is already an oil-in-water emulsion and it will take on more oil if you feed it slowly; pour the whole four tablespoons in at once and it breaks into a slick.
- 03
That slow addition is also what makes the dose even. Oil that has broken out of the emulsion floats, and the top of the jar becomes stronger than the bottom.
- 04
Whisk in the sour cream, then the buttermilk in a thin stream until the dressing pours off the whisk in a ribbon.
- 05
Stir in the vinegar, garlic, onion powder, mustard powder, salt and pepper.
- 06
Chop the herbs finer than feels necessary and fold them in. Fine pieces stay suspended; coarse ones sink to the bottom of the jar and take flavor with them.
- 07
Chill at least an hour before serving. The garlic and onion need that time or the dressing tastes flat and powdery.

- 08
Keep it in a labeled jar in the refrigerator for a week. Shake or stir before every use, and put it on the table with a measuring spoon so each person dresses their own plate rather than pouring by eye.
Built on
Standard buttermilk ranch: 1 cup mayonnaise to ½ cup buttermilk and ¼ cup sour cream, with 2 tbsp each of dill, chives and parsley, garlic, onion powder and vinegar.
Every recipe here names the conventional ratio underneath it. The cannabis part is a fat substitution, not new chemistry — so if the base is sound and the substitution is sound, the recipe is sound.

Before you eat it
- These are estimates, not lab results. Treat the low end as the honest number and the high end as the thing to plan around.
- Start with one serving and wait two hours. Edibles take 30 to 120 minutes to come on, and the most common mistake is redosing before the first one lands.
- Test a small piece first. Potency is rarely even across a batch, especially if the infusion was not mixed thoroughly.
- Label anything you store with the date and the estimated dose, and keep it away from children, pets and anyone who did not ask for it.
- If you overdo it: you are not in danger, but it will be unpleasant. Find somewhere quiet, drink water, and wait it out. Do not drive.
