Terpenes
Linalool
Floral and soft, lavender with a citrus edge.
Floral in a way that is easy to overdo — a little reads as perfume, a lot reads as soap. It comes through an infusion intact, which makes it a good fit for honey, cream and anything chilled. Blueberry and lavender is the obvious pairing because it is the correct one.

Survives infusion
Infusion is kind to these — every method on this site tops out at 200 °F, below where they go. Decarb is harder on them and a 375 °F bake harder still. They hold up best in something cooked gently or not at all: a no-bake, a sauce finished off the heat, a chilled dessert.
Pure linalool boils at 198 °C / 388 °F. That figure is the isolated compound at atmospheric pressure, not a threshold in a pan. Dissolved in fat it leaves gradually and the butter holds some of it the whole way — which is why the band above is the number to plan around and this one is only a bearing.
Cook it with
The same compound is in lavender, coriander and birch — which is the short version of why these pairings work. You are not matching a flavor to the cannabis, you are adding more of something the flower already tastes of.

Water bath, low oven and a slow cool-down are the three things standing between you and a cracked top. The infusion sits in the graham crust, where it spreads flat and portions with the slice.

Brown sugar and vanilla carry the whole bar, with no cocoa to hide behind. That means the butter you use should be butter you would happily eat on toast, because the flavor is right out in the open.

Cold butter, a light hand and two folds are what separate a flaky scone from a sweet biscuit. Infused butter straight from the refrigerator behaves like any other cold butter here.

Peanut butter fudge rolled into balls and dipped so a bare circle shows on top, the way the nut does. Cold, firm centers are what keep the filling out of the chocolate bowl.

A dipping caramel cooked to 245 °F and then allowed to fall to about 200 °F before the butter goes in — which happens to be the same temperature at which caramel coats an apple instead of sliding off it.

Cupcakes solve the portioning problem a layer cake creates, and putting the infusion in the cream cheese frosting solves the heat problem — frosting is never cooked, so nothing is lost on the way.

From StrainTrackr. Each of these breeders named linalool on their own product page — a claim about their cultivar, not a lab result. Most strains have no terpenes published at all, so this is a sample of what is documented rather than a ranking of what is strongest.
